New Mass Flow Filling Monobloc with Alcoa to Exhibit at PackExpo (2004)

Aug 12, 2010

SAN CLEMENTE, CA. November 1, 2004 – Pacific Packaging Machinery Inc, the leader in high-speed rotary volumetric liquid packaging fillers, today announced that they will introduce their new Liquid Mass Flow Filling Machine at 2004 Pack Expo, Chicago Booth # S-2843 on September 7th – 11th.

Pacific will be demonstrating an 18-Station Rotary Mass Flow Filling System monobloc’d with an Alcoa CSI 10-Station Rotary Capping Turret that supports speeds up to 300 containers per minute on various container sizes.

The filling system offers filling accuracy of ± ¼% or better on light through semi-viscous products. The filling system is arranged with self-draining components and special filling nozzles that offer CIP/SIP capabilities. In addition to the exceptional filling accuracy and minimal clean-in-place capabilities, the equipment also offers no-bottle/no-fill, quick-change/tool-less changeover parts and a durable, all stainless steel construction.

The monobloc arrangement with the Alcoa Series 125 10-head capping turret provides a “best in class” solution on the capping turret technology. While many filling companies have acquired average-performance capping technology for their monobloc offerings, Pacific prefers to partner with the industry proven Alcoa capping system in order to offer customers proven, risk-free equipment.

The Series 125 capping machine is the latest in Alcoa CSI’s line of rugged, dependable cappers. This new capper addresses the need in various production environments for an easy-to-use capper with built-in versatility. The capper is less expensive to operate and maintain than comparable cappers in this class, giving it one of the lowest operations costs in the industry. Alcoa’s Cap-In-Head technology is a proven system for eliminating misapplication via positive pickup and placement of various closures (18 to 110-mm) on a wide range of container sizes (1 to 6” diameter).

A key component of the new filling system is the Endress & Hauser Dosimass Mass Flow Measuring System Meters that offer ± 0.1% accuracy. The Allen Bradley CompactLogix and Flex I/O Modules are used to control the flow meters and ensure accurate results. The Allen Bradley PowerFlex 70 closed-loop vector controllers and Allen Bradley PanelView 1000+ HMI are also included in the simple, yet high performance control system for operating the machine.
