Chunky Fillers for Relish, Syrups, Pie Filling, Tomato Sauce and more

Some examples of large chunk products include pickle relish, corn relish, strawberry syrup toppings, pie filling, tomato sauce, etc.

For these types of applications, the timed-orifice liquid rotary filler is specially designed to ensure the large particulates and chunks flow easily throughout the filling system.

We first select the appropriate pumping system to ensure the particulates are not damaged. We then provide a very specific flow divider manifold that ensures that the flow is divided into equal streams and that the particulates do not clog the system. As with all Pacific timed-orifice filling machines, our particle liquid filler is extremely accurate, versatile and flexible to accommodate a wide range of container sizes, across a range of speeds, with minimal clean out and changeover time.

For slower speed requirements, we also provide inline and drum filling machines that utilize volumetric pumps or net weight filling technology.

Our top-fill nozzles with ball valves or displacement style automatic shutoff valves provide accuracy across the full family of products listed to the side. For applications where zero drip is required, we incorporate an external vacuum-based sniffer system.

All of our filling systems are constructed from 316SS and other FDA, USDA and Dairy 3A approved materials. The filling machine is designed for Clean-in-Place washing and can be combined with our external cleaning system to provide high levels of repeatable cleanliness.

Light to Semi-Viscous Liquids Fillers for Salad Dressings, Sauces and more

Pacific is known for designing and manufacturing fillers for salad dressings, sauces, hot sauces, and other liquid food products with similar characteristics for many years.

For this application class with higher production speeds, Pacific’s timed-orifice rotary filling machine has become the industry standard. Versatile and flexible, our salad dressing liquid filling machine is customized to accommodate a wide range of product viscosities and particulate sizes. In addition, the filling system is designed to accurately fill various container sizes, across a range of speeds, with minimal changeover time.

For customers requiring an exact ratio of oil to spice on Italian, Caesar and vinaigrette dressings, the filling machine can also be arranged for Two-Phase operation. Competing solutions require two independent filling machines — with the Pacific, two-phase applications operate on a single filling machine. This reduces floor space requirements, maintenance, cleanout time & resources, and operator personnel.

If your high-speed application does not include particulates and two-phase filling is not a requirement, our mass flow filling machine offers improved levels of cleanability.

For slower speed requirements, we also provide inline and drum filling machinery that utilize volumetric or flow meter filling technology.

Our patented top-fill nozzles with displacement style automatic shutoff valves provide accuracy across the full family of products listed below. For applications where zero drip is required, we incorporate a nozzle-based vacuum system. Many of our customers also want to fill viscous products, such as mayonnaise, on this same filling machine. For this requirement, we can arrange the same filling system with our bottom-up fill nozzles.

In this product category, the most common viscous products include mayonnaise, margarine, peanut butter and spreads — or any product that does not flow easily.

Where higher production speeds are required, Pacific’s timed-orifice viscous rotary filler has also become an industry standard solution. The proven design originated when the company was founded in 1962. Today it remains our most simple yet accurate filling system.

The keys to filling viscous products are (1) being able to move the product easily with consistency, (2) being able to maintain a low-pressure operation throughout the filling system, and (3) placing the product into the jar without aeration pockets.

Pacific solves these design challenges by integrating a CIP’able positive displacement pump that operates at a constant speed with our rotary timed orifice. The timed-orifice manifold is custom-designed to maintain low pressure flows to our bottom-up fill nozzles. The nozzle technology is also custom-designed for special flow rates in conjunction with the camming system that guarantees the container is always in the proper position relative to the product flow.

Versatile and flexible, Pacific’s viscous fillers are customized to accommodate a wide range of filling systems. Each custom-designed machine accurately fills various container sizes across a range of speeds, with minimal changeover time.

For slower speed requirements, we also provide inline and drum filling machines that utilize volumetric pump or flow meter filling technology.

Regardless of whether an inline or rotary filler is best for your production speed, we arrange the filling machine with our bottom-up fill, open tube nozzles. There may be cases where you also want to run semi-viscous products on the same filler. If so, we can also arrange the bottom-up fill nozzles with a positive shutoff valve to provide drip control.
