  • New Feature
    No Bottle/
    No Fill
    Feature
Pacific has been building high performance filling machines for nearly half a century. Our "time and pressure" system offers many advantages over other filling systems. Still today, these advantages minimize the need for a "No Bottle/No Fill" system.

Given many of our new and existing customers now face more stringent regulations for the control of waste, Pacific designed and installed a "no bottle/no fill" feature in 2005. The system is based on our "patent pending" internal turret recirculation design. The approach maintains accurate fill levels and easily cleans in place.

While the feature is available as an option on all of our new models, it cannot be easily retrofitted on existing installations.

    Announcement
    CIP Nozzle
    Patent
    Approved
The United States Patent Office recently approved Pacific Packaging Machinery's patent application and granted a patent on our low pressure flow, CIP'able filling nozzle for light to semi-viscous products with and without particulate.

This patented filling nozzle was originally designed for customer's who wanted improved cleaning capabilities on their existing Pacific filling machines.

See our March 2003 newsletter for more details.

    Reconditioned Filling Machines
    Short
    Lead-Time
    & Cost
    Savings
From time-to-time, Pacific offers "like-new" reconditioned filling machines. These machines are completely stripped down and rebuilt with new components. Currently, we have one filling machine to offer with a short lead-time at roughly 25% less than the cost of a new machine:

    • 9-Station, Light to Semi-Viscous Filling Machine:

Ideal for large size containers (32-oz. to gallon) that require positive shut-off nozzles to control drip. Speed range of 30 to 90 C.P.M. based on the volume and container opening. Supports a maximum container diameter of 7.500".

    • Reconditioned Frames:

      None available at this time

    Technical Tip
    Restraining
    Arm Guidelines
The restraining arm on a Pacific filler serves two purposes: (1) it keeps the the stator plate from turning, and (2) it allows adjustment of the start of fill/end of fill.

The "restraining" function holds the stator plate in the proper position. This is important to ensure the rotating plate receives the proper amount of product.

The "adjustment" function provides flexibility to improve fill appearance. The restraining arm can be "advanced" or "retracted" to set the desired start of fill and end of fill location. This adjustment eliminates aeration and stringing.

There are two rules to always follow with the restraining arm:
    1. Always loosen the restraining arm when changing the turret height. If the arm is not loosened before the turret height adjustment, the arm will bind up and cause uneven pressure on the stator plate. This will cause premature and uneven wear in the stator and rotor plates
    2. Always make sure the restraining arm is level. If you are does not have a level indicator, purchase and install a device as shown in the photo. Always verify that the restraining arm is set to a level state. This will ensure even wear of the filling turret.
