    New Feature
    Explosion
    Proof
    with
    Air Purge
    System
To meet the requirements of our hazardous location customers, Pacific has developed and implemented an improved design for explosion proof environments that utilizes an air purge system machine.

Instead of using explosion proof enclosures with electro-mechanical push buttons for the operator interface, the new design incorporates a purge system with a touch screen operator interface. This approach offers a safe operating environment and easy to use operator interface with additional machine control features.

Purge systems operate on a supply of compressed air. They monitor the pressure within a sealed system of electrical enclosures to remove and prevent the accumulation of flammable gas or vapors.
    Technical Tip Photo
When main power is applied to the machine, existing air is purged from the machine electrical enclosures. The purge system then validates that the enclosures are in a "safe" condition and power is allowed to flow to the protected enclosures. The system will then constantly maintain and verify the pressure at a safe level of 0.5 PSI. Loss of safe enclosure pressure will cause the system to de-energize power to the enclosures.

This system reduces the hazardous area rating within the protected enclosures to an unclassified or non-hazardous level, in accordance with the NEC-NFPA 70, NFPA 496, ISA 12.4, and EN 50016. The purge system, along with all of our explosion proof components, allow Pacific to offer a machine up to a Class 1, Division 1 rating.

    Technical Tip
    Recommended
    Grease
    Lubrication
Lubrication of your Pacific filling machine is important to ensure proper filling operation.

Throughout the years we have reduced the number of lubrication points, such that, with today's latest models, there are less than eight (8) total lubrication points on the machine.

While our newer machines require less lubrication, we have included a complete list to cover the older models.

The recommended lubrication and frequency is shown below:
    Technical Tip Photo
Lubrication Point / Frequency Recommended Lubrication
Platform Carrier Roller System / Daily Mobil DTE 20 Weight Oil
PIV, Gearboxes / Every 2,000 Hours Mobil Gear 600, 140 Weight Gear Oil
Air Manifold / Daily LPS Food Grade Silicone Spray
Filling Nozzles Plungers / Daily LPS Food Grade Silicone Spray
Central Lubrication Bank / Monthly #2 Food Grade Grease

    Reconditioned Filling Machines
    Short
    Lead-Time
    & Cost
    Savings
From time-to-time, Pacific offers "like-new" reconditioned filling machines. Unfortunately, we do not have any reconditioned equipment at this time.

We do, however, have a few reconditioned frames. The frames are recondition to like-new condition. The top deck is constructed from 304 stainless steel. The lower frame is steel with multiple coats of Steel-It paint.

If this arrangement is feasible for your new filling machine configuration, we offer a $7,500.00 discount.

For more information and pricing, contact Pete Carpino at (949) 369-2494 or information@pacificpak.com.
